Microsoft acquires MetricsHub

CBR Staff Writer Published 05 March 2013

Invested $20,000 to offer 10 startups developing in the cloud

Microsoft has acquired MetricsHub, a cloud monitoring start up company for an undisclosed sum

MetricsHub automates cloud performance management. It also helps customers efficiently manage their cloud services at a lower cost.

MetricsHub was a participant in the Microsoft Azure Accelerator, a competitive three-month accelerator programme the company hosts in collaboration with TechStars.

Microsoft provided $20,000 to 10 startup companies along with office space, technical training and support and mentoring.

Microsoft corporate vice president for strategy and business development, Bob Kelly, said, "To get real value out of those data points you need to automate how your application and cloud platform intelligently respond."

Microsoft said in a statement that MetricsHub will now offer all Windows Azure customers their premium product as a pre-release, at no charge. The service will be available through the Windows Azure Store.

"We will also be converting all paying customers to this no-charge version of the service and MetricsHub technology will continue to keep your cloud applications running," the company added.
